The kids and I took one more little day trip before school started: to Floyd, VA! I had heard lots of about Schoolhouse Fabrics and wanted to check it out. It’s an old schoolhouse they have made into a huge fabric shop. 3 Floors of Ribbon and buttons in every color and pattern you could imagine. I have a little boy that is obsessed with kitties and really wanted his own kitty blanket. There was a whole row of cat fabric. We got some fabric for Hailey’s curtains too…I hope it works. (ahem…NOT in the kitty print) On the way down to Main Street, I bribed my 11 year old to play with the kids for 5 minutes while I darted in this little gem (kids & antique stores = do not mix) I managed to find a couple of little treasures for the kitchen: We ventured down to Main Street to the coolest hardware store and then to our FAVORITE: It’s over 100 years old and still is the coolest store around. We stopped for some ice cream and had to pick a few treats from the candy barrels: I was dying at the schoolhouse lights and ceiling. Every Friday night they have local bands play…I so want to come back for a date night sometime! and fun finds everywhere: We heart Floyd. It’s just minutes from the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and one of our favorite little discoveries in VA!
