The terrestrial globe is surmounted by a brass hour pointer in a brass calibrated full meridian, mounted within a circular horizon band with an engraved paper calendar and zodiac. It is raised on a hardwood Stand having three legs joined by a medial stretcher. This globe was made by Gilman Joslin, successor to Josiah Loring's Boston globe making business.
