Need a fun and engaging way to help students transfer their understanding of vocabulary knowledge to their long-term memories? Try using QR code associations! This resource contains student directions and a one-page template so that you can easily plug in your own QR codes for any vocabulary word list. This vocabulary activity can be used with any word list in an class - ELA or other content area. Making associations with words is beneficial in all subject areas. Please note that this activity assumes teachers already have some knowledge of using QR codes. A general set of directions is included, but if you need more guidance, simply Google how to create QR codes. This resource is recommended for middle and high school students. Students will need a digital device to scan the QR codes. Before assigning the work, make sure to have the QR codes already generated and pasted on the template. When students scan the QR codes with their phone or iPad camera or a QR Reader app, the image, video, or infographic you selected will show up for them. This is when they will begin making connections. After you download this resource, you will receive a Note to Teacher page, which includes the link where you can make a copy of the digital template. You can assign this template to students digitally, or you can print it. One example is included for how students should show deep, critical thinking in their response. The template can be used with any words on your list. Teachers can choose the words, or students can select words on their list to deepen understanding. *NOTE: This activity template is also included in a larger bundle called The Ultimate Differentiated Vocabulary Bundle. If you already own this resource, please just re-download it to access this new assignment. You do not need to purchase it separately. Loving this resource?
