TEST STAND IX was completed in the fall of 1944, making it the last test rig to be set up in the Development Works East. Due to the experience gained up to that point with the rocket systems, but also with their different test facilities, it was the most modern and advanced test stand in the Entwicklungswerk-Ost. It combined the facilities for engine testing with facilities for the overall testing of the rocket. It was specially built to be able to carry out all the necessary tests on the » Wasserfall-Rakete«, an anti-aircraft missile, and to harmonize the logistics of the missile accessories, fuel, capacities and personnel as rationally as possible.
