This simple National Mall Map activity introduces students to the layout and function of the famous park in Washington, D.C. Students will learn about the general shape and location of five major buildings: White House, U.S. Capitol, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument. They will also become familiar with the three major avenues in the Mall (such as Pennsylvania Ave.) as well as the significant bodies of water, such as the Potomac River. A short paragraph on the map describes the length and landscape of the National Mall as well as the government buildings that are found in it.
