I started thinking about building a truck carrying a combine probably around last summer, but at the time I was looking at a British truck, so that I could take it to last year's Great Western Brick Show. At the time, I couldn't find a suitable truck, so I ended up building a Scania with a stepframe trailer for carrying a digger instead. The idea never left my mind, though, and having built several truck by the Dutch haulage company Van der Vlist, I decided to build this truck which serves with Van der Vlist Twente. This is a subsidiary company that has a transport contract with Claas, a German manufacturer of agricultural machinery. I also picked this because I really like the colour combination.
