Explore 22nd February 2009: #212 Sometimes no matter how hard you try ... the shot that you REALLY want is just not going to happen. When I originally scouted the location and angle for this shot it was 16:00 and far too early in the day. The sun was shining (as much as it can in Ireland) and the breeze was warm and gentle. I decided to kill time by heading along the coastal path for an hour. By the time I got back the rain had started and the gentle breeze had turned into a freezing gale from the North. That is when the shoot suddenly became difficult; salt water all over my lens, my tripod was blowing away in the gale and my filters were useless ... needless to say every shot I took had to be quick and followed up with a lens clean, cap and quick exposure. Luckily, I managed to get this one.
