This week I'm working on my next Peru/Bolivia collection, which focuses on all of the non-hummingbird avian species I photographed. That includes Peru's national bird, the Andean cock-of-the-rock. Though the females aren't as bright and colorful as their male counterparts, they're still quite striking. The males were very shy, so I was pleased to at least come away with a shot of one of the ladies. By the way, this bird is featured in my 2013 Peru calendar, which can be previewed on my website.
