Daddy would have been 52 days old on Christmas Day in 1913. His memories of Christmases in his childhood were different from these shown here. He was a country boy and Christmas was simple and more emphasis on its true meaning. He did remember his mother always putting a candle in the window--an old Irish custom--this mother was of Scot-Irish descent.
