This is such a lovely antique art book from 1903. George Romney (1734 –1802) was an English portrait painter. He was the most fashionable artist of his day, painting many leading society figures – including his artistic muse, Emma Hamilton, mistress of Lord Nelson. This is a gorgeous collection of plates of his work, covered in tissues to protect them and has several of his famous society portraits including Emma Hamilton and John Wesley. This is a lovely copy with a blue cover and amazing gold tooling and lovely inside with a publisher date of 1903. The book shows a little external scuffing on the corners and is in very nice antique condition. It has lovely detail on the front. It is a gorgeous romantic gift - the kind of lover's gift which was very popular in Victorian and Edwardian times. As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of age and patina. Please look at the photos carefully and please do ask any questions, I am happy to help.
