I was invited to preview all the Summer changes at Serena & Lily in Westport CT. I typically wouldn't share pictures of a store on my blog, but it doesn't feel like a store. It feels like I toured the most charming home everrrrrr. The store is in an old historical home that they restored and it is pretty fun to see the newest and greatest things in season right now in home decor. So come take a tour with me and I also asked two of my favorite bloggers to share what their new favorite home decor pieces that they added to their homes- one is a vintage find and one is an entire gorgeous look!
Yay! It is Friday! My sister flew in from Utah for the weekend to hang out and help me with the kids. My husband has been out of town for three weeks, so it will be a nice break for me. Today I shared TWO different examples of lightbulbs in our kitchen and in a readers bedroom- I love this topic! Please head to my blog post to tell me what lightbulb you prefer. Also shared some finds from Target. Head to todays post HERE. Answering one of your design questions today! (I will let you know when I am taking more). DESIGN QUESTION- "Should I add something above the bed? Anything on the wall? Different pillows or more? Any advice would be so helpful." -Teresa My Tip- Yes you are right, I would take off the two smaller white pillows in the front and do THREE white Euro Shams. On a king bed you need larger pillows. But I love your bedding and bed! I would also lower the mirrors so they are grouped with the nightstand, creating a little vignette and not the same height as the bed. (example below) Another tip would be to move the lamps so they are closer to bed, rather than on the outside of the nightstand. As far as above your bed goes, I would look for something that is not round, because you already have the round mirrors. A large, simple piece of art or a rectangle mirror that will resemble a window or you could do a grouping of three larger frames, similar to the the bedroom below from todays blog post.... Check out the post HERE Example of grouping artwork or mirror grouped with the nightstand..
