The first, a group reading activity, is based on Steven Kellogg's children's book, Johnny Appleseed. Along with beautiful illustrations, the story of John Chapman and his infamous travels unfolds in a mix of history and legend, offering a great opportunity for classroom discussion... And check out this fun graphic organizer Abby created to go along with the book! On the large apple she printed the main idea - the life of John Chapman - and on the {adorable hand-drawn!} Johnny Appleseed character she worked with her students to print the details of the story.
