The Zion National Park Poster is an ORIGINAL WORK created and numbered, dated and SIGNED BY THE ARTIST. The Zion National Park Poster is 13″ x 19″ and printed on “Conservation,” a 100% recycled, domestically produced (80 lb.) paper stock with soy-based inks. It is an original work by Robert Decker. It features a view from the banks of the South Fork of the Virgin River, looking across to The Watchman at the south end of Zion Canyon. The posters are designed to be reminiscent of the style from the Works Progress Administration (WPA) era of the 1930s and 1940s. From start to finish, each poster is 100% American Made. The poster was created in the style of the Works Program Administration of the 1930s and 1940s, when the Federal Government started the Works Progress Administration (or the Works Program Administration), and commissioned hundreds of artists to create thousands of posters designs from which literally millions of prints were made. At that time, there were only 26 National Parks. And only 14 parks had posters created during the WPA. At Zion National Park you can gaze up at massive sandstone towers and cliffs of cream, pink, and red that soar into a brilliant blue sky. Or, explore the Virgin River in a narrow slot canyon. Established in 1919, today you can follow the paths where ancient native people and pioneers walked and experience the special places they left behind. Learn about the park’s plant and animal life, geology, ecosystems, and other natural features. I am on a journey to photograph and create iconic images for each of the country's 60 National Parks, reminiscent of the style of the WPA. The major difference, however, is that this artwork is based off my original photography, and processed in a unique way to create these graphic art posters. There are postcards available as well. Zion National Park is also one of the Utah Mighty Five WPA-style poster Collection, which includes Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Arches. So, this is NOT a reproduction of a poster made during the WPA era. This is original artwork, created from an original photograph by Robert B. Decker.
