Nevada’s piece of Death Valley National Park, Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, is a desert oasis with a unique ecosystem. Ash Meadows NWR has more than 23 endangered species of plants and animals and crystal-clear blue pools, which are holdovers from the Ice Age, also called fossil water.
