“I wanted to mimic the fluid motions of a conductor’s baton,” says Sherman Oaks planner Kristeen LaBrot of her vintage French horn overflowing with a colorful burst of coral and blush peonies, ranunculus, veronica spray roses and dahlias, with the earthy additions of basil, scabiosa and scabiosa pods. She was inspired by her husband’s love of music, so she went to work creating a centerpiece that felt akin to a floral symphony. But she’s quick to point out that a unique centerpiece can come from anyplace. “Almost anything can be upcycled,” explains LaBrot.
