Description A dovetail joint is strong and attractive. Its strength comes from both the mechanical design and the large glue surfaces available. The attractiveness of the joint depends upon the skill of construction and the design and spacing of tails and pins. The Leigh D4R Pro allows a wide choice of spacing and adjusts for snug-fitting joints. It creates 8° through dovetails in stock between 1/8" and 1 1/4" thick, as well as half-blind and sliding dovetails in material up to 1 1/2" thick; maximum joint width is 24". It cuts through and half-blind dovetails with fully variable sizing and spacing of tails, pins and half-pins. The jig will also cut finger joints. A spacer rod sets the fingers equidistant for machining 3/8" or 3/4" joints and 9/32" or 1/2" deep half-blind joints in a single pass. The eccentric guide bushing (supplied) simplifies fitting joints by letting you quickly and precisely change the distance between the cutter and finger assembly. Constructed from extruded aluminum, the jig body has fixed integral stops to ensure joint alignment, and non-marring textured clamping surfaces. Quick-acting cams secure the work for precise machining. Built-in scales provide rapid and accurate fine adjustment for stock thickness and through dovetail fit. The finger assembly is removable and flips to change from through to half-blind mode; this reversing action automatically positions the scale correctly. Comes with everything needed to get under way: 1/2" × 8° and 1/2" × 14° dovetail cutters and a 5/16" × 1" straight cutter (all 8mm shanks), a 1/2" to 8mm collet reducer, an eccentric guide bushing* and a 160-page manual. Router with a 1/2" collet required. Made in Canada. *Fits baseplates with a 1 3/16" through-bore and a 1 3/8" counterbore.
Antique Apothecary Cabinet C. 19th Century, made of oak (?), & in very good condition. She has a sister who is also available for a bundle price if interested. This cabinet is a great size to sit on a counter or act as a side table, not too big and not too small. She has lots a drawers (10 in total) fit with dovetail joints and is very sturdy. The labels are glued to the drawers and it appears she is missing one in the middle. General marks, scratches, rubbing, and wear are apparent throughout due to age.
