Jørn Utzon's geometry for the Sydney Opera House. Published in 1962 as the cover of Den Gule Bog, which was published in connection with the construction. Want the whole story? It comes here. You are looking at one of the most important drawings that Jørn Utzon has ever made. Jørn won the competition to build the Opera House in Sydney in 1957. But it was only after four years of work that he found the technical solution for the roof. And that's the one you're looking at. The poster here is the cover for The Yellow Book, which was published in 1962. It is one of the two books that Jørn published during the construction of the Opera House in Sydney, so that the whole world could follow the historic project. The Yellow Book is number two in the series of books. By that time the workers in Sydney had finished building the plateau. And now they had to build the roof. So it was at the last minute that Jørn Utzon found a solution.

&Tradition’s Utzon pendant light was designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, who is best known for the Sydney Opera House. His father worked as a naval architect in Copenhagen and Utzon found a continuing source of inspiration in his engineering drawings. This fascination can also be seen in the smooth, ship-like lines of the Utzon light. Designed in 1947, the elegant pendant features a timeless design that suits any contemporary interior and looks beautiful, for instance, above the dining table or in the bedroom.
Combining more that one view of Historical Architectural Buildings. Larger images in the post. British Artist Stephen Biesty, has been a freelance illustrator since 1985, producing art for adult and children's books. He really came to prominence when he published his "Incredible Cross-Section" books, that sold 3.5 million copies world wide and were translated into 16 languages. He has provided illustrations for high profile jobs like: the redevelopment of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Millennium Dome. These drawings really speak for themselves, when it comes to the precision and accuracy with which they were executed. At the same time, I need to mention the way he gives different views of the building within the same drawings, both fascinating and mind bending.
