An assortment of bangles made of cast Phenolic Resin, a plastic also known as Bakelite or Catalin. Hand made from Bakelite tubes cut, carved and polished and sometimes dyed by artisans. These tubes were about the same height of these stacks. The mix with other materials was common, as seen here with wood and mother-of-pearl. These bangles were in fashion from 1930 to after the war. They all have the standard inner measure of 2 and a half inches.
