It's been a great week for Designers for Hire as we see another lovely new entry. Malika Buttinger is an illustrator and surface pattern designer from the Netherlands. She designs playful and lively patterns and illustrations, often portraying animals, plants and flowers. Malika's style is graphic and bold, while still gentle and kind. She loves to breathe life into her creations by letting elements interact with each other. Working mostly digitally, she also likes to explore analogue methods too from time to time. Nature is her biggest inspiration, as there is so much beauty and variation in it. She can be inspired by the plants and animals around her, but Malika also likes to portray exotic subjects from far away.. She began her journey in surface pattern design while living in Barcelona (talk about inspiration!) - and started as a freelance designer recently after returning to the Netherlands where she is originally from. She designs with fabric, wallpaper, baby & kids, stationery & homeware in mind. Malika would (especially) love to work with (eco minded) companies to license her existing work and/or to take commissions from and is also interested in working with an art agent. Website / Instagram
