I am catching up on designers who joined the Designers for Hire during the period when we were covering trade shows. So today we have another fabulous artists joining the P&P Directory. Klara Hawkins is a British designer and illustrator based in Surrey. Klara studied Illustration at Kingston University and upon graduating landed her dream job as designer for Tigerprint, designing greetings cards, wrapping paper, toys and stationery for Marks and Spencer. She loved it so much she stayed for 16 years. For the last 3 years however Klara has been freelance and loves it. She has found it very refreshing working for new clients and finding her own true style, and says it is exciting not knowing what's around the corner. Her work is inspired by animals, plants, people, different cultures, different countries, and colour. Klara's work is all done digitally, doing 'scribbles' first and then jumping straight in. She works mainly on greetings cards, surface pattern and children's books, and would love to hear from any new freelance clients. She says "I do what I love and love what I do".
