Welcome back for Day 5 of the August Papertrey Ink Countdown! This is my last day to share projects for this month's release and I have just a few more featuring the Tiny Take Out Box and the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate. Let's get going! The first ensemble I have today is a little fella's birthday set. I started with the box. I wanted to try creating a fabric box. I tried fabric with interfacing, but that wasn't quite sturdy enough. I tried laminating the fabric onto a piece of cardstock and that worked perfectly! I die cut and assembled my box before cutting slits along the score lines on the short sides. Then, I slipped ribbon through the slits to create mini basket handles. From there I die cut and colored the rocket from Boy Basics Out Of This World set. I embellished my rocket window with a bit of glitter for some sparkle and strips of crimped Harvest Gold patterned paper as flames. Then, I die cut a Countdown Details shape and stamped it with a sentiment from Faux Ribbon. Those pieces were then adhered to my box with Scor Tape. Next I worked on my coordinating card. I started by texturing a piece of Enchanted Evening cardstock with the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate and adhered it to a white base. Then I die cut a circle from Harvest Gold patterned paper and die cut a number 3 from the resulting shape. It's a little moon! I stamped "happy" on the moon using the Simple Alphabet and adhered it to my textured card front. Then, I die cut the long banner strip from the Get A Handle On It Die Collection and cut one of the Birthday Trio Dies from that. That birthday banner was mounted to the card front with foam tape. Finally I die cut, colored, and embellished a second rocket and mounted that to the card with more foam tape and rounded the bottom corners. My final project of this release is a very simple sympathy card. I began by stamping the stems, leaves, and blooms for the flowers onto Rustic White cardstock. Then, I die cut and stamped a second bloom onto more Rustic White cardstock. I stamped my sentiment over the flower stems and textured the card front with the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate. I deliberately didn't use my shim when I added the texture to ensure that it would be slightly more subtle on this card. I rounded the corners and mounted the extra bloom to the card front with foam tape. The last step was embellishing the bloom centers with small pearls. Thank you for joining me over the past several days! Make sure to visit with Nichole, Ashley, Betsy, Cristina, Dawn, Erin, Heather, Jess, Maile, Melissa, and Melissa to see sneak peeks of this month's new releases. See you soon!
