This Color-by-Number Coloring Activity will delight your Algebra 2 or Pre-Calc students as they practice SOLVING 3x3 SYSTEMS of EQUATIONS (x,y,z). Perfect for Algebra 2 & above to solve by hand or using matrices on a graphing calculator. The foldable booklet creates a fun change from the traditional worksheet and the coloring page keeps the kids' interest! 12 3x3 Systems of Equations Included: Booklet A: Requires 2 pieces of paper and folds into an 8-page mini-booklet with plenty of room for student work inside the booklet. Booklet B ("Paper-Saver"): All 12 Systems are included on 1 page. This is a great option for teachers with limited paper & copy budgets. Students will need to show work separately on their own work paper (or use their graphing calculator if solving with matrices). Booklets A & B have the same 12 systems Scaffolded Practice: Systems increase in difficulty as the student works through the activity. Some systems involve rational numbers. Please check out the pdf PREVIEW to view the exact problems included. HOW DOES IT WORK? FOLDABLE BOOKLET: Print and fold in half to form the booklet. The coloring page is the front cover of the booklet and the practice problems are inside. The code chart (answer bank) is on the back cover. NO PREP: Just copy/print/fold and you are ready! (You could have the kids fold their own papers, too!). IF YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME: You can still use the booklet and answer bank for feedback without completing the coloring page. The SUNFLOWER design on the front cover of the booklet was specifically created to be interesting and engaging on its own (even if not colored in). This gives you more flexibility if class time is limited or if you have students who work at a slower pace. WHAT IS INCLUDED: 2 Foldable Booklets with 12 Systems each & a 1/2-Page Coloring Page with Code Chart (Booklet A requires 2 peices of paper per student and Booklet B requires 1 piece of paper per student). Both booklets inlcude the same 12 systems - just in different formats for printing. Answer Key Directions (Printing/Folding, and how to use Coloring Activity) Teacher Tips WHO IS THIS FOR? Algebra 2 students & above learning to solve 3x3 Systems of Equations. My intention was for students to solve these by hand...but if your standards include matrices, you could have the students practice solving on their graphing calculator. Please view the problems in the PREVIEW before purchase to determine if the difficulty level matches your learning targets. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Check out these other HIGH QUALITY Battmatics Resources: Complex Numbers Quadratics & Polynomials Scientific Notation Systems of Equations 3D Geometry Graphing <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> VISIT THE BATTMATICS TPT STORE FOLLOW BATTMATICS ON TPT

Do your students want a unique way to summarize the topic of Solving Systems of Equations? Fun, effective way to summarize: Elimination, Substitution and Graphing to Solve Systems of Equations is included. 9.C1.5 Students fill in an 8 page booklet which summarizes the FIVE types of Solving Systems: Solving by Graphing, Solving by Elimination (2 types) and Solving by Substitution (2 types). This is what educators like you are saying: "Students really loved it. The silliest things make a lesson fun! Thanks for the great resource :)" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Bought last year for review - am going to use a lot earlier this year! Thank you!" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NOTE: The resource has the template and the questions written on the template, students fill in the solutions with guidance from the teacher or independently. An answer key is provided. Also, best to use 11 x 17 paper, all photocopiers have the function to enlarge from 8.5 x 11 to 11 x 17t makes it easier for the students to fill in the foldable. This product includes: ✔️ Rationale: how to use the product in the classroom. ✔️ Practical Tips for Teachers. ✔️ EDITABLE foldable handout for students (PowerPoint File) ✔️ full answer key ✔️ BONUS: Instructions for folding the 8 page foldable, can be used on a SmartBoard when instructing the students. Click here to download the { FREEBIE } NOTE: I recommend enlarging to 11" x 17" for a larger foldable, you can do this option on most photocopiers. You can print and use as 8.5 x 11, but some students may have difficulty fitting all the math into the space This Flipbook covers: { SOLVING SYSTEMS BY GRAPHING } Solving systems of equations by plotting on the Cartesian plane - one example is given on the foldable, students rearrange the equations, then plot on a grid provided on the foldable. { SOLVING SYSTEMS BY SUBSTITUTION } Solving systems of equations using TYPE 1 One equation has the x or y variable isolated, students fill in the solution. TYPE 2 Neither equation has a variable isolated, student must isolate the variable from the first equation, then sub into the second equation. { SOLVING SYSTEMS BY ELIMINATION } Type 1 Given 2 equations add or subtract to eliminate variable Type 2 One of the equations must be multiplied by a factor before you can add or subtract them to eliminate the variable. Use as: ❤️ Review at the end of Solving equations unit. ❤️ Recap at the end of each lesson on Solving Systems. ❤️ Exam review assignment. Equipment needed: ✔️ one copy of the Flipbook template for each student. ✔️ one pair of scissor for each student ✔️ enlarge to 11 x 17 for a larger foldable, you can do this option on most photocopiers ✔️ you can use it on 8.5 x 11, but students with larger handwriting may have a challenge fitting all information on the foldable You might also be interested in: 1.
