My tried and true method to gathering fabrics of all sorts of weights and textures, (this is tulle) • Set you machine to the longest stitch • pinch and hold thread away from you at the top of your machine to create your desired tension • Gathers will form based on tension you are creating Be sure you are using the recommended needle size/thread weight for desired fabric to gather, reducing possibility of thread breakage • I use Gutterman brand thread I use my left hand to guide the fabric and control the speed with my machine presser foot • Sometimes I do need to adjust the fathers after BUT consistent pull gives consistent gathers Finally, be sure to pull the threads at the start to create a long tail and at the end for a long tail in the event adjustment is needed or j
