This is a beautiful quality handcrafted piece of Murano Italy art glass. It is a heavy thick handblown Murano Art Glass flower bowl from mid century 1950's Italy. It is a combination of a deep ruby red glass, with orange glowy glass undertones, that is incased in thick layer of crystal clear glass. This bowl is 6.5 inches at it widest and 2.24 inches deep. This would make a beautiful console bowl, for change, keys or even jewelry. The pontal is clear and polished smooth, just one of Murano glass art standards The bottom has some scratches on it from age, and from sliding on furniture, otherwise this peice shows really well. This art glass peice is in almost new condition. It has one tiny chip on the pontal area, but other than that It has no flea bites, no,cracks or repairs. The bowl has no signatures, or labels. Which is typical for items this old, stickers were either never put on, or removed by the owner. This can be used as a candy bowl, trinket or vanity dish or even an ashtray. We are selling this very unusual and interesting bowl that we honestly have no clue what it is, we've shown it to several dealers in the field and they can't place it. The bowl has pseudo Imari style decoration that is almost Islamic or Persian influenced on a pottery botty with yellow glazed foot. The bowl bares the label of Mrs. Russell S. Carter who was an important dealer in early English porcelain and pottery and who's collection was gifted to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, many of which are on display. An elegant mid-century Murano hand-blown cased glass ashtray and decorative catch-all bowl by Alfredo Barbini. The bowl has a unique biomorphic shape that was wildly popular in the 1950s. The bowl is made of cased clear, opalescent, and cranberry glass, along with a liberal sprinkling of copper foil aventurine to provide sparkle to the interior surface of the bowl. Ideal as a catch-all bowl for any room of your home. Use on a coffee table, an office desk, or a vanity counter. The bowl measures 6 inches long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and is 2 1/2 inches tall. It weighs nearly 5 lbs., which is heavy relative to its size. The bowl is in excellent condition, with slight visible signs of normal wear from previous use and age. This ‘Sommerso Bowl’, has a folded shape or design in dark green, white and Amber clear glass with random air bubbles. This beauty can be used for display, or as a candy dish, housing jewelry, or as an ashtray. Fantastic condition and super rare color combination. Handblown and beautiful. This listing is for a beautiful little vintage mid 20th century Murano art glass ashtray or trinket dish. This small blown glass bowl is unmarked but was most likely made in the 1950's or 1960's and is attributed to the glass furnace of Barovier & Toso, which was located on the island of Murano in Venice, Italy. The bowl is made of ruby red glass with a heavy amount of gold leaf for added interest. It has a freeform, handkerchief shape. The dish measures approximately 3-1/4 inches by 3-1/2 inches across the top and stands approximately 1-3/4 inches high. The dish is in excellent used vintage condition with respect to its age and use. It has no cracks, chips, or repairs. There is some light shelf wear on the polished base. This is a lovely little colorful piece of midcentury Italian art glass that would be a great addition to your Murano art glass collection. Made in Italy, Murano, 1950s- 1960s. It is made in quite heavy 4-layered iridescent cornflower blue and white hand-blown glass. This trinket bowl / ashtray looks like a geode. It might show black impurities due to its old process: as a matter of fact, back then the glass oven were with charcoal. This must be considered as a sign of originality.
