TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rachel A. said, "I love this product. I have been searching for years to figure out how to show the kiddos how to figure out where the period goes when they've haven't put it down. How to tell when one thought ends and another begins is an extremely hard concept, especially for my ESOL kiddos, but doing this skill orally over and over I am beginning to see them understanding! I love it! I will have to purchase ALL of them. (Oh, I use the snipping tool to put it into my google slides and then use the punctuation marks too!) I can't say enough good things!" (2nd Grade) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Anne M. said, "This is great! My first graders have such a hard time with punctuation. All the other resources I could find were just one sentence, plug in the punctuation at the end. This actually lets them practice with a little paragraph!" CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.2b Use commas and quotation marks to mark direct speech and quotations from a text. A great activity to do with this PowerPoint is to have the kids write their own dialogues. I cut out of magazines some interesting pictures of all kinds of different people interacting. I glued them on cardstock, with the words Who? What? Where? When? and Why? written on each card, and laminated them. I passed the cards out, and students had to imagine what the people were saying to each other in the pictures, and then write the dialogue, using correct punctuation. They also had to later incorporate the dialogue into a short story that answered the five W questions. The kids enjoyed this activity and got very creative with their stories! Enjoy the freebie!
