This is one of the few keepers from my brief stay in Washington's Enchantments. I got there just in time for a cold snap, and the nasty weather cut my trip short. The cold and snow would have been bearable as far as comfort is concerned, but the descent started looking sketchy when black ice began to form on parts of the granite. So as soon as the sun broke through to melt it, I was out of there, having camped just one night (my tent was actually set up just outside the frame to the right). Unfortunately, this won't make much of a print for 2 reasons: 1) This is about a 50% crop of the original image; I just didn't have the right focal length for this shot, and 2) All my shots from this morning were accidentally taken at ISO 800. D'oh! Despite being technically sub-par, this photo is very satisfying for me because I feel like it captures some of the majesty of these mountains. This is an AMAZING place, impossible to do it justice with a photograph, and it's humbling to even try.
