We were commissioned to make a thistle suncatcher, the symbol of Scotland and that's how this beautiful Scottish thistle with Celtic knot suncatcher came to live. We loved it so much that we have decided to add it to our shop on Folksy. The suncatcher will be made to order for you. This suncatcher was constructed using the Tiffany method of copper foiling and soldering. There are 28 pieces of glass which were carefully cut to size, ground, wrapped in copper foil and soldered in position. We gave this item a steel grey finish using black patina; then the project was thoroughly polished. This would make a lovey gift for a patriotic Scot or a Scot living abroad. The suncatcher is 5.5 inches (14 cm) at the widest point and 7.5 inches (19 cm) at the longest point. Silvery chain and suction cup included.
