One of the best ways to improve our deep squat is to spend more time in our deep squat. Seems obvious, right?!? If our ankles are limiting our ability to rest comfortably in the deep squat, When we attempt to rest our heels on the ground, Our center of gravity will be shifted backwards (behind our feet), We won't be able to maintain balance, And we'll fall backwards 🥺 We can shift our center of gravity forward (and over our feet) by using something to counterbalance us (like a countertop, a weight, etc). This way, we'll be able to maintain balance, And able to spend time comfortably in the deep squat. With practice over time, we'll be able to sit in the deep squat without assistance.
