The Scotland Street School is probably one of the most important school buildings in the world. It was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1904 in his signature version of the Art Nouveau. The school closed in 1979 when the neighborhood went into severe decline. It is now a museum. The school is a Grade A listed building.
