Observational skills are important for students to learn and will benefit them in all aspects of their life. This lesson plan requires year 5 and 6 students to carefully observe the image of the poppy (provided in this purchase) and reproduce it on A4 paper. Students must use a grid to assist the development of their observational drawing skills. By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: Closely observe details of an artwork (with the use of a new technique). Represent the focal point of the artwork surrounded by things in the world. Reflect upon their creations. NSW Curriculum Link - VAS3.1 - Investigates subject matter in an attempt to represent likenesses of things in the world. What is included? The visual arts lesson plan. Additional resources (a powerpoint document and a copy of the poppy for students to draw).
