Are you in need a book companion activity for the popular SEL title "In My Heart" I created this resource pack to help my kiddos explore comfortable and uncomfortable feelings, just like many SEL themed storybooks we read to them! The flip book style craft gives children the creative space to write or draw about the specific feelings. They can choose to share personal stories, or examples of what would cause the feelings. It is a wonderful way to help target emotional literacy, identify feelings and express emotions. The feelings included are excited, proud, scared, sad, mad and happy. The craft can be either stapled or you can insert a spinner. Along with the flip book, I've also included a mood meter or feelings thermometer, where students can use a pipe cleaner and bead to indicate how they're feeling. This can be laminated and taped onto their desk for daily check-ins. It is incredibly useful for children who shut down and have a hard time verbalizing their emotions. Additionally, there are 2 quick no-prep activities: foldable coloring book and a puzzle worksheet activity. Included Activities: - Pieces of My Heart (puzzle writing/drawing activity) - In My Heart I Feel A Lot (foldable coloring book happy, sad, mad heart emojis) - Today My Heart Feels (mood meter poster sad, happy, worried, mad) - Today My Heart Feels (mood meter desk tool) - My Heart is Full of Feelings (7 page flip book project) The flip books make awesome bulletin board displays!
