Your students will practice gathering, representing and interpreting data with this easy to prep math activity. First, they will gather data by counting all of the objects on the picture cards. Then, they will use the data to create a tally chart, bar graph or both. Finally, they will interpret the data by writing a statement sentence on the space provided. This activity makes a great math center or workstation. It is also makes a great independent work activity or fast finisher activity. The easy to prep nature of this activity also makes it great to leave for guest teachers. To prep this activity print the picture cards on card stock, cut and laminate. You will also need to print a set of recording sheets for each student or partner pair. Place all of the materials into a container, bag or basket and the activity is ready to go.
