I love bucket lists. Having this list of things to do or see that you look forward to crossing off. Of course, that means that I prepared a vision board for myself with goals I will do my best to realize this year. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share all of my goals and objectives for the year as some of them are quite personal. And so I thought, instead of doing the regular monthly recap where bloggers share their favorite books, podcasts, etc of the past year, why not give this tradition a little twist. Instead of giving you my favorites, here’s a list of books, podcasts, and many more that I’ve seen all over the internet (mostly Tiktok probably) that I want to give a try this year. This will also force me to keep up with this, and throughout the year I will refer back to this article and share my thoughts on it. Here are 27 podcasts books, concepts you need to give a try in 2022, that might be updated throughout the year. HABITS Learn a new skill This one is quite a popular new year resolution, but I always think it’s a good thing to try to learn a new skill. Whether it is something useful, something that could eventually make you earn some extra money like social media management, or something you just always wanted to do like learning a new language, or an instrument, I believe that developing a new skill is good for our creativity and mental health. In my case, I will be trying to step up my Korean and Spanish games, I know the basics but never take the time to properly learn them. Time to do it. Be more gentle with yourself and your body Cook more (or at least learn to cook)I know how tempting it is to Uber Eats yourself a nice little meal but knowing how to cook is such a great and important skill. Time to learn that. Read more I used to be a fervent reader in high school until adulting life happened and I was way too stressed to enjoy reading as much as I did. And to be honest with TikTok, Netflix, YouTube, it gets harder and harder to focus on reading. So this year, as I try to decrease my screen time, I hope to get back into reading. Move your body I hate working out. I love the sensation afterward, yes, but the workout itself is real torture. I always force myself to work out but can never keep it up more than a week or two as I just hate this. This year, let’s try to listen to our bodies and just be active in any kind of way (Walking, hula-hooping, dancing around on Sunday while cleaning, …) instead of pushing ourselves to the point that it becomes a habit. When it comes to progress, consistency is key anyways. Decrease your screen time Drink more water Build financial literacy I’m smart in some ways. At least, I hope. But if there’s one thing I don’t feel that confident about is anything that has to do with financial freedom and growth cause I was never taught that. But perhaps it is the moment to learn it myself, and you should try it too. With adulting and its hardships, and all the conversations on NFTs, cryptocurrency, and investments in general, we should try to build this financial literacy starting right now. Take myself out on dates BOOKS I have seen these books all over the internet, or they were on my TBR list for so long I almost forget they existed but, but here are 10 book recommendations to read in 2022. It’s a chaotic mix of self-development, YA romances, classic reads, and financial books that in normal circumstances would probably never be put together on a list. 101 essays that will change the way you think by Brianna West The Midnight Library by Matt Heig The strength of our scars The 4-hour workweek by Tom Ferris Rich dad, poor dad by 7 habits of highly effective people The 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-joo, Jamie Chang The cruel prince, Holly Black The unhoneymooners, Christina Lauren PODCASTS I like to work with my headphones. But after a few hours of my playlist, I like to switch to something a bit different to shift my focus. In that case, I like to go with a podcast. But I have to be honest I’m a bit picky when it comes to podcasts. Here are 8 podcasts that were highly recommended on TikTok and Pinterest. Manifestation babe The rise & conquer podcast The daily boost The girl bathroom Affirmation babe Stuff mom never told you Gals on the go The Boss babe podcast Any other thing I should add to my 2022 list?
