A stunning antique French ormolu Rococo clock, circa 1880. It is beautifully modelled in the Rococo style of Louis XV in Ormolu (gilded bronze). Beautiful balloon shaped case with acanthus to the shoulders and a Rococo flourish to the top. Sound frets are fitted to the front and sides. It stands on it's original integral base with boldly scrolling feet. A reflection of the pendulum swinging can be just seen in the highly polished centre of the base. The beautiful dial is porcelain enamel on copper and is complete with its original finely cut gilt hands and convex glass. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link or click / paste this into your browser: Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration.
