Current Events: set of 12 graphic organizers (templates) will help differentiate current events topics and give the teacher and student a broad range of choice when choosing news stories to research. The four activities expand the possibilities even more! This resource has been updated to include digital and print access using the new interactive digital layer tool. I have created my own version, available to buyers, but buyers can create their own version too, depending on their needs for their students. The twelve current event topics, one for each organizer are: Entertainment, the Environment, History, Political, Science, Sports, Technology, Weather, Your Community, Your Country, Your State, and the World. Students choose a current events topic and complete the organizer. They can use the internet, television, newspapers, or magazines - this is up to you the teacher. A Canadian version of this resource is available as well and can be seen here: Current Events Canada Version Also included are four activities: ---Discussion Topics (seven) which can be used how you wish, either in groups or with the class, or even as short essay assignments; ---Compare and Contrast in which students choose two current event topics from different fields to complete the organizer; ---Using a News Website (approved by you) and evaluating content; ---and “Present Your Topic” in which students present their summarized current event topic to two other students and an adult (e.g. a family member or another teacher). This product does not include an answer key as all activities are subjective. It does include a Table of Contents. Please have a look at the preview! All colored graphics used print out well in black and white.
