*This floor-length gown and apron are priced as "seconds". Some of the stitching is not as neat as I would like, and the pocket slits are smaller than I usually do. The quality is not affected, they will still hold up to years of normal play* This gown is made of a quilting calico with Kona cotton and lace at the sleeves. The bodice is lined and seams neatly finished. The back of the gown closes with snaps. The apron is made of indigo Kona cotton, ties in the back at the waist, and at the bodice is held in place with Magnets rather than the traditional straight pins. A strip of white fabric with Magnets sewn inside is placed inside the bodice of the gown and with the corresponding magnets sewn into the apron, they keep the apron quite firmly in place. Because magnets are used please use caution, they should not come out of the fabric casings but please be aware and keep them away from small children and animals prone to eating things. Also be aware that magnets could potentially cause problems with medical devices, such as pace makers, if held too close. - In one of the last photos the dress is shown with a cap and kerchief, these are sold separately in my shop -Pocket Hoops are available in my shop to give gowns that wide-hipped look! These were made using a Keepers Dolly Duds pattern which can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/270263022/pdf-pattern-kdd20-colonial-day-dress-an *I sew in my home studio and am usually accompanied by my 2 dogs. If dog allergies are an issue for you, please let me know in "notes to seller" during checkout and we'll figure out the best way to work with your allergy. Care instructions: while sewing quality doll clothes that can withstand play is very important to me please consider these points: * wash in a mesh lingerie bag with like colors on delicate cycle *during dressing and undressing be mindful of the snaps. Don't jerk them apart, instead gently 'pop' them apart with the edge of a fingernail. It may take an extra second or two, but they won't snag your doll's hair either!
