Kay Khan's work is a mosaic of fragments, collected experiences, information, and images. Layers of connected thoughts revealed in a succession of images link and multiply in evolving variations. Her artworks are often labyrinths of intricate wordplay. Intricately worked in textiles and stitching that builds up to a rigid quilted form, Khan's sculptures are at once ethereal and lusciously tactile. Khan has exhibited extensively since 1992. Her work is included in the collections of the Museum of Art and Design, New York, The DeYoung Museum, San Francisco, The Arizona State University Art Museum, and the New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts, as well as numerous private collections.
