Conspiracy of Grace: A Wild Tale of Transformation by Dale Fiegland and Robbi Cary is the story of the power of grace in the life of the author, a good Christian and minister, Dale Fiegland. It is a tale of hope with a powerful message for everyone: God is capable of turning things around and transforming our lives in far greater ways than we can imagine. The author of this book is a living testament to that hope. No wonder the book opens with the author declaring how stunned and surprised he is at how God loves him, blesses him, and wants him to know Him. This love has manifested itself in that while Dale ran away from God, He continuously pursued him. Conspiracy of Grace: A Wild Tale of Transformation is the story of a Mafia runner turned pastor. As I read Dale’s story from being addicted to alcohol to living as a criminal to becoming a Christian surrendering his life to God, I got strong hints of St Paul who persecuted Christians and Augustine of Hippo whose debauchery and resistance to God turned into tools He used to make them powerful instruments. Told in a voice that is clear and engaging, albeit compassionate, this book is a testimony of God’s love and the power of that love in transforming us into who God wants us to be when we surrender our freedom to Him. The authors are not preachy, but in a style that is conversational, they unveil the power of God’s love to readers with the testimony of one sinner. It pulls the reader in and compels them to think about their personal relationship with God, showing them the inscrutable ways of God’s loving-kindness. This book made me rethink my relationship with God and my personal commitment to service. The author opened my eyes to a love that is more powerful than me and more forgiving. It is one of those books that will help readers tell their stories differently.
Killing Grace: A Vietnam War Mystery is a work of fiction penned by author Peter Prichard in the historical drama, mystery, and intrigue subgenres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience. We enter a captivating narrative tale set against the tumultuous backdrop of the Vietnam War in 1967, where Lieutenant Ben Kinkaid, a US military police officer, finds himself entangled in a complex web of intrigue. When he encounters US Army clerk Tommy Banks and his girlfriend, Grace Waverly, on the streets of Saigon after curfew, things take a suspicious turn. Grace presents herself as a peace tourist, but is actually a member of RAW, an anti-war group with a radical agenda. What unravels is a larger conspiracy involving an opium-dealing arms dealer and a myriad of spies. Author Peter Prichard has crafted a highly immersive historical fiction work that gives a fully cinematic and deeply resonant sense of period and attitude from cover to cover. The story is rich in authentic details, immersing readers in the chaotic atmosphere of the 1960s, which I found thrilling and unpredictable as a result. As Ben and Tommy pursue justice, love, and survival in a world ravaged by war, Prichard skillfully weaves a suspenseful tale around them that is more than just a backdrop, but the capturing of a whole shift of culture. Overall, Killing Grace is a compelling exploration of the complexities of the Vietnam War era, blending elements of mystery, espionage, and historical fiction to create a truly unforgettable reading experience.

From the author of the National Book Award finalist Black Leopard, Red Wolf and the WINNER of the 2015 Man Booker Prize for A Brief History of Seven Killings "An undeniable success.” — The New York Times Book Review The Book of Night Women is a sweeping, startling novel, a true tour de force of both voice and storytelling. It is the story of Lilith, born into slavery on a Jamaican sugar plantation at the end of the eighteenth century. Even at her birth, the slave women around her recognize a dark power that they—and she—will come to both revere and fear. The Night Women, as they call themselves, have long been plotting a slave revolt, and as Lilith comes of age and reveals the extent of her power, they see her as the key to their plans. But when she begins to understand her own feelings and desires and identity, Lilith starts to push at the edges of what is imaginable for the life of a slave woman in Jamaica, and risks becoming the conspiracy’s weak link. Lilith’s story overflows with high drama and heartbreak, and life on the plantation is rife with dangerous secrets, unspoken jealousies, inhuman violence, and very human emotion—between slave and master, between slave and overseer, and among the slaves themselves. Lilith finds herself at the heart of it all. And all of it told in one of the boldest literary voices to grace the page recently—and the secret of that voice is one of the book’s most intriguing mysteries.
