When my husband and I visited our friend Adam Forgash, a photographer and antiques dealer, at his home in Nyack, we were ready to move in next door. Forgash travels the world in search of great antique finds, so he and his wife knew the 200-year-old barn and farmhouse was a keeper. But it wasn’t just the house—the location sealed the deal. “Nyack feels like you’re deep in the country but you’re just 20 miles from New York City,” says Forgash. And then there’s the town. “It’s got a nostalgic, homey downtown with old buildings,” he says. “You’ve got fine dining, you’ve got every kind of food, plus shopping, museums, and an artist vibe. Nyack really has it all.”
