I can not believe that it has been a year since I had my baby girl. I can't hardly wait for future years to follow, although I wish they would slow down a little so I can soak it in. I like to look at Harper's life with numbers. 9 has always been significant. She was born on the 9th, at 9 pm, in room 9, and we stayed in nursing ward room 9 as well.In twelve months there have been two plane rides, three states, four freak out calls to the doctor's office, five words, six thousand photos taken - approximately, seven sicknesses, eight teeth, nine doctor appointments, ten billion tears, eleven billion smiles outweighing the tears, and one little girl with the ability to brighten everyone’s day with just a silly face and a giggle. Harper is crazy about Minnie and Mickey Mouse. I am very against super theme-y parties or décor in general, but I figured that I should have fun and make it something she will really enjoy. I made the banner myself with the cricut and some cardstock. Welcome Sign also done by me, and adorable cuteness eating a Minnie Cake Pop is all Harper and her Aunt's doing. I saw an idea for a banner with a picture for each month and turned it into a fun board! It was so hard to look through these pictures and find the best one that month, and because we took a zillion pictures her first year it took forever to complete. Harper received the cutest mini cooper car from my Aunt and Godfather. I also made the One sign myself. There was an attempt for a tu-tu but I ended up giving up on that idea My favorite creation! The 1 year board. I was seeing a lot of the same designs, and I really was not impressed by the lack of originality. So I went to the cricut design space and printed out little icons for each category. I had to draw some of the more detailed things with chalk marker, but it looks awesome. We did not get the birthday party catered, there was 80 people invited! We already had to rent a hall for it. So we ordered pizza! but I had snacks and loyal helpers to prep and bring stuff as well! Daisy's Garden Veggies, Pluto's Pasta Salad, Hot Diggity Dogs, Gooey Goofy Dip, Cheese and Quakers, and Mickey's Medallions! I designed and made the Minnie food labels myself! I can't forget about the biggest hit at the party! Clarabelle cake pops! I still have some in the fridge. When it comes to baking, I am not the girl for it! I can cook up a storm - any meal you could imagine, but when it comes to dessert I am store bought. Harper's Aunt is an expert at cake pops and decorating them, they turned out great, and only turned your mouth a little black when you ate them. I made all the centerpieces in different combos of polka dots, blacks, pinks, and golds, some with hands and some with #1's, every table was unique and a different color. I loved how they looked, Luckily, Harper's Nonna had decorated some clear vases for them and they looked adorable. We also had a photo booth, and I bought all the props online. Harper's party was amazing, I love how everything turned out and not one corner wasn't covered in Minnie Mouse or polka dots. Family and friends came and celebrated and Harper loved everything she received from them. We were not expecting as big of a turn out as we did but we were so grateful to have our amazing family there and everyone helping out. The kids got personalized doggy bags, and girls got rings and bracelets, while the boys got bugs and hackey sacks. I threw in some candy for them all as well. It turned out lovely. Happy Birthday to my little Bear, Harper . You are amazing in every way and you have a way to cheer me up no matter what. I have gotten through some of the saddest times this year hold you or laughing with you. Your blue eyes melt my heart. Love you always, Mom.
