This listing is for a set of Small Mid Century Modern Wood Chess Pieces. Each playing piece is individually cut and sanded by hand. The lighter Maple playing pieces are finished with several coats of satin lacquer, which both maintains the wood's original color, while also providing a durable and long-lasting finish. The darker Walnut, White Oak, and Mahogany contrasting pieces are finished with tung oil to bring out the full richness and depth of the wood you select, while still providing long-lasting protection. The black stained pieces are finished with a coat of durable black water-based stain that maintains the grain pattern of the white oak. Listing is for chess pieces only; chess board is NOT included. Each chess piece set comes with 16 total pieces per side (8 pawns, 2 rooks, 2 knights, 2 bishops, 1 queen, and 1 king), for a total of 32 pieces.
