This whimsical interactive unit is a fun and entertaining way to practice Writing in Spanish about "Being Lucky" and " Not so Lucky" using common "Good Luck" symbols such as herraduras, patas de conejo and combining it some folklore symbols of not so good luck such as meeting a black cat, walking a ladder, etc.. The purpose of the lesson is to practice AR/ER/IR verbs conjugated using first person (yo) and create two writing prompts. It is an amazing opportunity to show students that Superstitions are the same around the world. Also a FUN fact is how "Friday 13th" was released in some Spanish countries as "Martes Trece". Spanish people have a saying " En martes ni te cases, ni te embarques, ni de tu casa te apartes" Martes was named after " Marte" the God of War in Greek Mythology creating a superstition in the Spanish world around Tuesday and not Friday.
