I found this really cute idea on Pinterest for a Story Map. Of course, it wasn't in French. I loved it so much that I decided that I needed to create my own. It focuses on the main elements of a story. I will be using it to get the students familiar with the elements, but also to get them thinking about the Main Idea or Main Problem in a story. I took the time to handwrite all of the headings...which took too long...but I am going to share an awesome FONTS website with you that will save you a lot of time and make your charts super cute (scroll down to the end of the post for the link). Hand made "anchor chart" for Elements of a Story This makes it much less wasteful than using an individual anchor chart for each story that you read. With this one, the only thing that changes and gets recycled are the small post-its that you use. We read the book Quel éléphant? and then used the chart to discuss the elements of the story. Being the first time that we did this, the students needed some prompting. Once they become familiar with the vocabulary (like Lieu and Résolution) I'm sure it will be easy breezy! Quel éléphant? by Geneviève Côté I'm excited to choose our next book and use the chart again! Thanks for reading :) - K
