It seems counterintuitive but I have noticed that when I feel strapped for time, if I just take a little time out for self-care things work out. I come back refreshed and whatever I am working on feels more easeful and joyful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Connect with nature: Go for a walk, sit in a park, plant something, create a flower arrangement, visit a garden or nursery, have a picnic, explore barefoot ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Journal: Write down your stream of consciousness thoughts, gratitude, feelings, dreams, ideas, goals, observations, affirmations ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Rest and recharge: Sleep, lay in the sun, take a bath, read a book, be cozy, listen to music ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Set boundaries: Self-care isn’t always relaxing, it also means doing things that are sometimes difficult but ultimately for your highest good. Notice when you do things that drain your energy just to please others. Set boundaries to prioritize your wellbeing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Clear clutter: Clear your physical environment and body, mental space, electronic space, and relational space. Paint, draw, cook, bake, take photos, write, do your makeup, dress up, macrame. Don’t worry about the outcome, just be free and have fun. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Connect with your body and breath: Practice yoga, practice breathwork and kriya, dance, run, stretch, work out, oil your body, massage ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Nourish your body: Drink water, drink tea, drink a cup of coffee, eat something nourishing, eat your favorite food, make an herbal elixir, do a face mask, do a hair mask ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Find stillness: Meditate, practice japa, sit in nature, listen to the sounds around you, watch the sunset or sunrise, look at the stars ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ Cleanse energetic space: Energies build up in a space just like dust and can make you feel stuck.
