The Gartered Trogon (Trogon caligatus) is a species of bird from the rainforests of Mexico, Central, and northern South America. Along with the Amazonian trogon (T. ramonianus), it was formerly treated as a subspecies of the Guianan trogon (T. violaceous) up until the early 2000s, forming a species then known as the violaceous trogon.
