Get four pages of sound boxes (Elkonin boxes) with writing lines to help students practice word mapping. It comes with printable graphemes to make this a multi-sensory activity to use all year long with tons of phonics skills. Orthographic mapping is essential for storing words in the brain until they become automatically recognized, or 'sight words.' Lots of practice is required for this to occur, and this resource is perfect for practicing with your students! This Orton-Gillingham/Science of Reading aligned resource works with all levels of beginning readers, and it can grow with them as they learn more and advance in their skills and knowledge! >>> Upgrade to our Sound Box Bundle and get this resource and MORE at a discount! WHAT'S INCLUDED 4 printable sound boxes pages for students to map and read words with writing lines, colorful tap-and-blend cues with dotted line to promote continuous blending, and an arrow to help with directionality: CVC words (3 phonemes). Three sound boxes to map CVC words. We also love to use this when working on mapping words with digraphs (chat, shed, chin). Magic e words. Since words following the VCE pattern include the silent e (no sound), there's a line instead of a sound box for the special letter e, which helps remind students that the magic e is silent! This is a great resource when introducing the magic e, but after a bit you will want to scaffold up and give them the 3 phoneme box and see if they remember to include the magic e when they hear the long vowel sound. 4 phoneme words. Use 4 sound boxes for CVCC or CCVC words. 5 phoneme words. Use this sheet for all sorts of words! This is great for advanced practice once things like digraphs, blends, vowel teams, and diphthongs have been taught. 3 pages of cut-out printable letters in 2 different fonts: Capital and lowercase letters (full alphabet) Red vowels and y as vowel Digraphs: ch, sh, th, ph, wh, ck Floss: ff, ll, ss, zz R-controlled vowels: ar, er, ir, or, ur Vowel teams Diphthongs Magic E (letter e with a top hat & a magic wand!)
