Last year when Debbie sent us a bunch of Kaffe Fassett fabric for her month in the Threads Together Quilting Bee, I made this log cabin block for her, and decided I wanted to make a whole quilt just like that. I collected fabrics, I even washed them, but then they just sat there. Until yesterday. After the Modern Quilt Guild meeting, I felt a push to work on something, and this was sitting there waiting for me! I originally wanted to make the logs as tiny as the ones in Debbie's block, but an entire quilt with that many seams would probably weigh one million pounds, not to mention that I don't think I'd have enough fabric. This block is 14" with 1.5" logs, and a slightly larger center at 2". Only 35 to go...
