Waiting on Wednesday is a meme that was started by Breaking the Spine. It's a weekly meme where bloggers showcase books they are looking forward to reading! Release Date: April 6, 2017 Publisher: Bodley Head Author: Ian Mortimer Genre: Non-Fiction Pages: 464 This is an up-close-and-personal look at Britain between the Restoration of King Charles II in 1660 and the end of the century. The last witch is sentenced to death just two years before Isaac Newton’s Principia Mathematica, the bedrock of modern science, is published. Religion still has a severe grip on society and yet some—including the king—flout every moral convention they can find. There are great fires in London and Edinburgh; the plague disappears; a global trading empire develops. Why I'm Waiting: I adore books like this. The ones that poke a bit a fun at history, and make it rather fun to read about. I have a horde of Ian Mortimer books on my shelf that I need to read. So, what's everyone else waiting on this week? Any other Non-Fiction books?
