This pattern: Musical Note – 171 folds (342 pages) - 21cm book (minimi=um) Your pattern will automatically download as a pdf on receipt of payment. You will also receive comprehensive instructions with easy to follow pictures. These will take you through every step of how to fold a book. The instructions will show you how to calculate the number of pages you need in your book in order to complete a design. You will receive instructions on how to tear pages which may be necessary for some folds. It is really easy to do and the instructions are in step by step picture format. I was invited by the local high school to do a series of Ullagami workshops with the students for their activity week. I was afraid that given the time available, the existing Starter Kit models might be too quick to construct, but the more advanced models might take too long. So I made this collection of 8 intermediate templates as a goldilocks stepping-stone learning tool. They start very simply with two different types of 5x5 spiral, and the patterns evolve in several directions toward the end of the series, incorporating ideas and techniques as they progress. Each template comes with a photograph of what it should look like when finished. This listing does not include any assembled pieces, rather it provides you with the patterns to make them yourself. I spend a lot of time and care in designing these; they are perfectly accurate. To use a template, I print it out (color or b&w works fine; I use a b&w laser printer), attach one edge gently to a piece of card using lo-tak tape or glue stick, then score with an embossing point, cut with a scalpel, and fold with my fingers. These templates are A5 pdf files. I prefer the metric system because of its easy scalability. But they work just fine scaled up to A4, or on letter paper too.
