My daughter passed this recipe on to me a long time ago and I FINALLY got around to making it. Wow. It was excellent! I had it in the restaurant once and I have to say it does taste like it. I love the topping, it's so rich and creamy, and the maple flavor is killer! Applebee's Blondie Brownie Blondie: 4 egg whites 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. light brown sugar 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 8 oz. white chocolate, chopped 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped Sauce: 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1/4 c. cream cheese, softened 2 Tbsp. maple syrup 1/4 tsp. salt Topping Vanilla ice cream chopped walnuts To make the Blondie cake, whip the egg whites until stiff and form peaks. Add butter, brown sugar,sugar,and vanilla. Mix with mixer until smooth. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and powder,and salt. Add dry to wet and mix well. Stir in the milk. Add the chopped white chocolate and chopped walnuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan and bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes until golden. Cool and cut into squares. While the brownie is baking, combine all the ingredients for the sauce until smooth. To prepare the dessert, heat the sauce in the microwave 30-60 seconds until hot. Place a scoop of ice cream on a square of brownie and drizzle with sauce. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
